Ensure the Patient Voice is Integral to the Work of the Professional Body for Radiography
The Society of Radiographers (SoR) is the professional body and trades union for radiographers and other members of the diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy workforce in the UK.
The SoR board of Directors is the UK Council. This is made up of SoR members elected regionally from all parts of the UK. The Council has a long-standing priority to keep the views of service-users in mind as it develops policy and strategy for the organisation and its members.
In order to help achieve this priority for the profession, UK Council is seeking to recruit a lay observer to attend and contribute to its meetings. The successful applicant would also become a member of the College of Radiographers' Patient Advisory Group.
Do you feel that you have experience or knowledge to contribute within this role?
Are you or have you been a patient requiring diagnostic imaging or radiotherapy?
Do you have a relative or friend that has experienced radiography services and feel that you can provide a useful perspective?
Do you have a desire to make a difference to the way that professional organisations operate within healthcare in the UK?
If the answer is 'yes' to any or all of these questions please consider applying to become our Lay Observer.
The role is voluntary and not remunerated. However, the SoR will pay expenses incurred as a result of your involvement. Meetings are generally held in London. Virtual attendance is acceptable. Between meetings email correspondence can be expected.
