Hospice in the Weald is a well-established, well respected and ambitious organisation, providing expert hospice palliative and end of life care to people across West Kent and Northern East Sussex..

The need for Hospice palliative care is growing rapidly, and we are thriving, but never complacent. We have plans to grow and innovative to meet local need for Hospice care and during the last 18 months we have expanded our services to include two new services: the UK's first Cottage Hospice, which offers a "home plus" environment for patients, and this year we will launch a new service providing Hospice care for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses.

It costs £7 million per year to run the Hospice and we are reliant on the support of our community to donate and fundraise in order to maintain our vital services. We deliver our services with over 250 highly experienced staff and around 1,000 committed volunteers. In addition to fundraising events, we also raise income through our 27 charity shops.

We seek an exceptional Chief Executive Officer with the drive and passion to provide strategic leadership and management across the organisation, ensuring that Hospice in the Weald is a modern, forward-thinking and resilient organisation, and a leader in Hospice palliative and end of life care.

Working in partnership with the Board of Trustees, you will provide strategic, innovative leadership of the Hospice to ensure services are delivered to the highest standards of clinical governance and you will be an exceptional leader with a proven track record of empowering, supporting and encouraging people to effectively deliver this as a team across the organisation. You will maintain a positive and productive culture in the organisation, upholding our Values, striving for excellence and putting people strategies at the heart of the development of an agile and high performing workforce.

You will ensure the organisation fulfils its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities, oversee the financial activities, ensure there is an appropriate and effective strategy for income generation and fundraising and assure quality and organisational stability through development and implementation of standards and controls, systems and procedures, and regular evaluation.

Our CEO will be an exceptional strategic leader with a proven track record of supporting and encouraging innovation, delivering against challenging objectives, and with robust experience of motivating and inspiring others to deliver first class innovative health services in a rapidly changing environment, preferably in the field of Palliative and End of Life care. You will maintain continuous awareness of external opportunities, taking responsibility for monitoring risks, preparing the organisation to respond effectively to external change and developing fresh ideas and continuously moving the organisation forward.

With highly developed, communication skills, you will have the ability to communicate with enthusiasm, warmth and influence to engage, inspire and build outstanding relationships and collaborative partnerships.
