Now Education are supporting a local Primary School in their search for an effective and engaging one to one teaching assistant to work with a Year 4 student with ASD, ADHD and associated SEMH issues.

As a one to one teaching assistant you're there to ensure that the pupils needs are met, providing them with the necessary tools to concentrate and complete tasks assigned to them. From listening to pupils and guiding them where appropriate, to giving feedback on their progress to parents and school staff, teaching assistants who provide specialist support have many responsibilities. You will also be committed to safeguarding and protecting a pupil's wellbeing while ensuring that any particular care needs are met.

You will look to develop a supportive and secure relationship with the child that is built on respect, inclusivity and which promotes self-esteem.

The student is active, and enjoys school, but struggles socially and struggles to remain focused in class. Your role would not only be to support them in lessons, but also use your initiative to take them out of the lesson and provide individualised support/ learning as directed by the class teacher.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging character to fulfil this role, this would suit someone with experience working with SEND and SEMH students. Understanding of Autism and ADHD is a must. An ideal candidate would be resilient, creative and quick thinking.

This is a full time position, 8:45 - 3:15, Monday to Friday.

To start as soon as possible after the October half term and through for the rest of the academic year. This role may also become permanent if the student remains in the school. To apply, please send your CV through to Jed Downing at Now Education
