Now Education are working with an ASD/SEMH school in North Leicestershire that are currently recruiting for a full time learning support assistant/ support worker to work with students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) aged 11-19 year old on a permanent basis.
We're looking for an experienced and passionate individual, that wants to make a difference to young people's lives on a daily basis. An ideal candidate will have proven experience of planning and delivering educational sessions, helping to support, develop and progress children with autism to fulfil their academic and pastoral potential.
This would suit someone with the following characteristics; resilience, confidence, initiative drive and empathy. The ability to establish and build ever changing relationships with students is key and an adaptability to work with a range of students in a short period of time.
For those outside of education this may suit graduates from Psychology, Sociology, Criminology and Youth studies and those with a passion for working with disengaged young people that may struggle to learn in traditional settings.
Historically we have also found those with a performing arts background, therapeutic interests, or sports coaches have also successful transitioned into working in our schools.
