Reed Procurement and Supply Chain Specialism are proud to be partnering with a fantastic, forward thinking organisation, to recruit for the role of CATEGORY MANAGER.
  • Home based
  • £35,200
  • 37 hours per week

The right person will have a Procurement background with a head for compliance and data crunching.

A large part of the role will be monitoring suppliers. This includes compiling financial information to assess risk (credit checks etc) and ensuring they are complying with the contract they have entered into.

Continuous professional development is key to success with this company. Therefore, the company will pay for role holder to complete their "CIPS" qualifications.

Duties include:-
  • Supplier performance evaluation.
  • Resolving contract issues and conflicts.
  • Contract scrutiny.
  • Tender writing experience.
  • Monitoring supplier risk and reporting findings back to the business.
  • Assist Head of Procurement with identifying objectives in the Procurement strategy.
  • Maintaining a procurement framework with regard to established policies and procedures.
  • Internal and external client engagement.
  • Seeking continuous professional development within the role.

Person Specification:-
  • Problem solving that is of a technical nature and requires some research and the analysis of information or solutions.
  • Day to day, localised decision making that involves the interpretation and application of policies, procedures, guidelines and criteria to specific situations and can impact upon others.
  • Provides information on complicated matters.
  • Committed to progressing with professional qualifications.
  • Effective use of IT (Microsoft Excel/ Word essential, PowerPoint preferable; e-Procurement tender portals essential).
  • Good understanding of value for money principles.
  • Able to prioritise to achieve realistic targets, costs and time deadlines.
