In order to support the rapid growth and scale of our client, we are seeking an experienced, highly-motivated Project Manager to help evolve our go-to-market model across EMEA. The PM will be involved in the transition from 3rd party distribution to a direct sales presence in specified markets, managing all related workstreams to execute this transition successfully. The individual will be heavily involved in tactics planning and strategy execution, operating model design, and execution and will lead the planning and execution cross functionally for each Market establishment and distributor transition through to product launch.

The successful candidate will be a results-oriented strategic thinker and hands-on delivery lead who demonstrates strong internal and external relationship management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, high EQ, and the ability to influence change across a matrixed organization. We are looking for a candidate who combines intelligence, experience, business acumen, and humility to effectively join a high-performing strategic team. This position reports to the Global Expansion Programme Manager, as a key member of the EMEA Business Transformation team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Establish and lead the core project team, including governance, project planning, approach, execution and tracking;
  • Oversee and guide progress, defining scope, deliverables, resources, actions in close cooperation with the leadership team;
  • Guide deployment of integration budget and ensure resources are applied as planned;
  • Develop and maintain project framework, including a communications plan, RACI and RAID logs;
  • Facilitate regular core team meetings with documented outputs (minutes actions), and report on project status, progress, risks, issues and interdependencies;
  • Engage and liaise with global and local stakeholders to ensure cross-functional alignment throughout the project and avoid siloed thinking;
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding and experience of mergers and acquisitions within local European cultures;
  • Willingly pick up ad hoc project work for other markets not Distributor/M&A related;
  • Appreciate (organisational) cultural differences and different management practices and utilize appropriate change management methods;
  • Balance the need for certainty with the need for action. Be comfortable with complexity and ambiguity and willing to help guide difficult decisions without complete information;
  • Employ strong written and verbal communications skills to articulate sophisticated problems in a simplified way, providing timely communication of issues/concerns both up and down the communication hierarchy;
  • Drive continuous improvement in parallel with driving business outcomes;
  • Ensure a smooth and effective transition to processes and policies.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6+ years' experience in project management of market entry / M&A activities, preferably in the medical device, pharma or digital health industries;
  • Significant in-country experience in European markets, demonstrating a cultural and business understanding of doing business in;
  • Fluent in English, with other European languages (Spanish, French, Italian, German) an advantage;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including capacity to comfortably interface with senior leaders;
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and excellence in effectively managing multiple projects/priorities;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and coordinate demands from multiple customers, both internally and with partners. Must be able to handle ambiguity well;
  • Ability to analyse complex business problems, develop supporting analysis and present in a clear and simple manner for an executive audience;
  • Expertise to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, as well as the ability to function independently as appropriate;
  • Strong leadership and self-direction with high capacity for learning quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years' experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or corporate development.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Fluency in other western European languages strongly preferred.
  • Experience in M&A due diligence or post-merger integration preferred.
  • Experience in the Diabetes industry and/or Digital Health preferred.
