Our talent agents are currently scouting for the latest stars to join our phenomenal cast. We're looking for a Retail Shift Leader who will be responsible for the day to day operation of the retail areas through a proactive approach to operational issues and people management.

About the role

Your duties will be to support with the smooth day-to-day running of the retail operation, maximising revenue of all retail goods, managing stock levels and maintaining high quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction. Leading by example, you will provide a courteous, efficient, and helpful service always whilst overseeing the training and development of your team.

Working closely with the Retail Manager, you will have responsibility for the day to day running of the Retail department, whether that is cashing up tills, overseeing the wax hand souvenir area or promoting the sale of Madame Tussauds London merchandise. You will oversee all retail activity, ensuring that appropriate stock levels are maintained and that all revenue opportunities and quality standards are achieved in this area. You will need to be a highly motivated person with excellent organisational and team building skills.

In addition, you will be responsible for staff training and development with the support of the Retail Manager. You will provide clear direction for the Retail team, ensuring they are confident with product knowledge of all retail items and provide training for selling techniques.

This is an hourly paid, permanent role, offering a minimum of 30 hours per week (including every other weekend) Our attractions are open daily and so we'll need you to be flexible as shifts will include weekends and bank holidays on a roster basis.

About you

To be successful, you must have the drive and determination to ensure every aspect of our retail department, including fantastic customer service and unrivalled quality standards are maintained whilst managing the team. Moreover, you should have the enthusiasm to develop your knowledge and skills. Previous experience of leading a team in a retail environment is essential, as is knowledge and use of relevant IT systems and cash handling procedures. Experience of managing stock levels and visual merchandising is also desirable.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, enjoy challenging situations and be able to create a positive and innovative working atmosphere. You'll also possess high standards when it comes to ensuring our site is clean and presentable, just as our visitors expect from us.
