Philanthropy ManagerResponsible to: Head of Relationships & Strategic PartnershipsDirect reports: 2 x Trust & Foundations FundraisersHours of Work: 35 hours per weekPlace of Work: Martin House, Grove Road, Boston Spa, Wetherby, LS23 6TXOverall Purpose of Role:To lead and manage our Philanthropy income stream across Trusts & Foundations and individuals, through a clearly defined programme of research, networking, applications and excellent stewardshipTo maximise the Philanthropy income stream during our redevelopment plans, identifying and cultivating prospects and supportersTo support the Head of Relationships & Strategic Partnerships to develop and grow an effective Major Giving strategyTo be responsible for maximising the long term support of all new and existing individual donors capable of giving gifts of minimum £3k per annumTasks and Duties:Build compelling cases for support and financial 'asks' to secure income for identified funding needs at Martin HouseProvide excellent stewardship through regular tailored communications for grant givers, ensuring their monitoring and evaluation requirements are metSupport the Head of Relationships & Strategic Partnerships to develop and grow the Major Giving strategy, including our redevelopment plansDesign and host a small number of engagement, prospecting and recognition events and assisting with their deliveryPro-actively build relationships with new donors with a propensity to give a minimum of £3k per annumImplement the highest standards of donor stewardship to effectively manage a portfolio of prospective and existing philanthropists, worth £3k minimum per annum.Develop and implement creative solicitation and cultivation plans to maximise donor engagement and incomeDevelop an excellent knowledge of Martin House's work, liaise with colleagues to prepare and present high quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for the donorBuild excellent external working relationships at all levels in order to directly influence decisionsUse creative and engaging methods of communication including written and verbal mechanisms, building positive relationships with influential people with the ability to negotiate successfully to achieve positive outcomeBe an active key member of the Fundraising Leadership TeamTo lead and inspire the two Trust & Foundations Fundraisers, by undertaking regular one-to-ones, appraisals and performance reviews, to ensure they meet their SMART objectives and income targetsCarry out research through a range of sources, to obtain relevant information that can contribute to proposals, applications, donor strategies and fundraising communications.Develop relationships and work with Fundraisers, Trustees and the Care team in order to maximise relationships with Martin House supporters.
