Purpose

To support the Store Manager in the effective delivery of the Sales and Profitability Agenda. The Assistant Store Manager works as part of the Management Team, assisting the Store Manager in the efficient overall running and operation of the store. They are responsible for ensuring the growth of profitable sales through achieving and exceeding financial targets and KPIs outlined by the Area Manager.

The Assistant Store Manager will be a brand ambassador; endorsing the Lacoste behavioural values in order to lead, develop and manage an outstanding team who consistently deliver an exceptional customer experience

They act as a key support for the UK business to promote the brand position and achieve the brand vision - to become a unique premium & sport inspired brand, improving profit ability and desirability while respecting the company's values.

Main Responsibilities

Play as One Team

▪ Coach, mentor and inspire employees on the Lacoste Sales steps through effective training platforms, measuring and following up on progress

▪ Work in partnership with various stakeholders in our business to promote an outstanding customer experience through understanding our employees, our customers and our community

▪ Build and develop a strong rapport with the team conducting daily briefings, 1-1 coaching sessions and presenting regular meetings in order to develop consistent communication and meet clear objectives/targets

▪ Identify and recruit the best talent in the retail market for our business, getting involved with integration and working towards building an inspired, capable and growing leadership team

▪ Assist the Store Manager with all in-store HR related processes; from payroll to employee relations

▪ Assist the Store Manager in the analysis of various KPIs, taking appropriate action to achieve set targets on a regular basis and portraying a culture of consistent communication to the UK Head Office Population

▪ Ensure the adequate growth of store sales through a faultless application of Lacoste selling techniques

▪ Aspire for your store to become a centre of excellence; perfecting a fantastic selling attitude to boost additional sales through story-telling and conveying passion

▪ Become innovative; bringing new ideas to the Lacoste platform and being proactive

▪ Ensure a perfect and sales orientated product presentation in cooperation with the RVM (Merchandising)

▪ Support the Store Manager with the analysis of top sellers; taking measures to maximise on opportunities with product lines (stock and visual merchandising)

▪ Set up, implement and follow up on regional plans to enhance the 'store image'

▪ Gear up the courage to accompany internal and external VIP during store visits in boutique, welcoming the media and taking entire responsibility for the organisation of events

▪ Act with courageous management skills to diffuse conflicts (collective and individual), with the ability to make difficult decisions under pressure

▪ Empower leadership and create a culture of trust within the store, building capability and endorsing the best ways of working

▪ Take pride in ownership; setting up, implementing professional sales floor standards

Play with Tenacity

▪ Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the store, through effective planning and organisation of daily operations to improve sales and productivity

▪ Work with the Store Manager to plan resource costs and ensure sustainable finance is adhered to

▪ Loss prevention through attentive customer approach and annual inventory

▪ Accurate handling of cash handling procedures through cash office operations

▪ Compliance with legal health and safety procedures, striving for constant successful auditing measures

Essential Criteria:

▪ Minimum of 1-2 years' experience an Assistant Store Manager

▪ Minimum 3 years' experience of Retail Sales, proving an ability to succeed with autonomy within specific responsibilities

▪ Experience in people management in services and/or retail

▪ Willing to endorse the Lacoste Values to the highest standard

▪ Able to understand, interpret and communicate internal financial results and KPIs
