NXTGEN have an immediate requirement for an Interim Senior Finance Risk & Controls Manager to join a high profile financial services organisation based in London. The role will be for an initial 6 month period with the potential for extension and will sit inside IR35. As Senior Finance Risk & Controls Manager, you will lead a small team in the delivery of the Finance Risk and Controls (FRC) frameworks to ensure all financial reports are compliant with local guidelines and methodologies. As a Senior member of the governance team, you will work closely with a range of stakeholders and process owners to ensure a robust controls environment which is effective in mitigating potential risks to the business. This will include ongoing controls testing, working with external auditors on all process walkthroughs and talkthroughs. As Senior FRC Manager, you will also attend local governance meetings, preparing reports and papers for the Audit Committee as required.

Key responsibilities of the assignment will include:

Lead on all FRC Framework assurance activity for your business unit, managing a high performing team to ensure smooth delivery of all assignments
Support with the delivery of monthly and quarterly financial reporting, working with stakeholders to ensure reporting deadlines are met and meet local governance frameworks
Lead on the review and testing of financial controls, identifying potential reporting risks and ways to mitigate these
Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, meeting their deadlines for control walkthroughs
Attend and present at local governance forums, contributing to any changes and amendments to local FRC frameworksThe successful candidate will ideally be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with recent Internal/External Audit or Assurance experience. A working knowledge of SOx controls and/or IT audit controls would be significantly advantageous but not essential. You will be confident reviewing financial reporting controls inline with local FRC frameworks, working with the wider finance community to drive the quality of financial information across the business. Prior experience gained within Financial Services is desirable with specific experience within Insurance significantly advantageous. Candidates will need to be excellent communicators with the ability to influence high level decisions
