Role Application Business Partner
Connect2Luton are excited to recruit Application Business Partner on behalf of Luton Borough Council in their Inclusive CCS department!
As a Application Business Partner you will be responsible to fully manage applications to achieve business aims, promoting the use of ICT to support business transformation.
About the Role:
Support and manage applications to support service delivery and business transformation, engaging with senior managers and other staff in those services to capture, understand and translate into an application strategy to support their business objectives.
Through service engagement, systematically capture feedback from services and ensure that this feedback is acted on by those responsible for service delivery to improve performance and ensure continuous improvement.
Pro-actively identify opportunities at a service and corporate level for ICT-driven and other transformation, and ensure these opportunities are logged and taken forward through the appropriate processes. Work with the services in the development of outcome-based business cases, and work as part of a team with the ICT provider in the development of these business cases and the delivery of service.
Be fully briefed on all aspects of the ICT contract with the external provider at all times and work within the organisation to ensure behaviours of all parties reflects the spirit of the contract intentions in the delivery of service to the organisation. Ensure all contracting activities are carried out in accordance with the Council's Procurement strategy & objectives, policy and overall legislations.
Lead on the development and implementation of system improvements and changes to support business aims.
About you :
In-depth experience of business management in an IT type environment.
Demonstrable experience in project management/ project leadership and methods.
Able to communicate effectively and sensitively, establishing productive relationships and maintaining contacts with people from all levels of management, public forums and backgrounds.
Able to produce fluent and technically comprehensive documents on all aspects of work area.
Able to think clearly and conceptually, understanding underlying issues in complex problems or situations by correctly relating these to simpler or better understood concepts, models or previous experiences.
Able to take a strategic perspective whilst keeping overall objectives and strategies in mind, and not being deflected by unnecessary matters of detail.
Maintain a clear customer focus understanding the needs of the internal or external customer when taking actions or making decisions.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft project) etc.
Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of equality issues and legislation - able to integrate
equality policies into business plans, strategies, service delivery, appraisals and employment practices.
Desirable skills :
Experience of working in the public sector
Awareness of political perspectives, the ability to work with members. Demonstrate a national and local political awareness and knowledge.
