We are currently looking for an Academic Operations Manager to join a small team to provide Business and Operational support for our 13 colleges.
The Academic Operations Manager is a critical member of the Academic Registry Team and will manage the day-to-day operations of the Academic Registry as well as support the delivery of the teams' strategic objectives.
You will work closely with the Associate Dean at divisional level to develop systems, monitor and improve our performance in key learning and teaching, student experience and quality metrics such as student satisfaction, progression, retention, and other key performance indicators. You will also manage the registry services of the Navitas UPE college network to facilitate a culture that is responsive to change and adaptive to regulatory and governance pressures on the network. We will look to you to develop systems, processes and maintain sound working relationships with our colleges, centralized functions, and external bodies such as the Office for Students (OfS), so as to ensure that our priorities and objectives are met. You will have the ability to achieve an equal balance between L&T activities and OFS regulatory and compliance activities.
The role requires an agile, self-starter who can use their initiative and be an active and productive member of a small team with a Broad remit.
Salary: up to £35,000
Academic Operations Manager Duties:
Manage and maintain the academic Registry and all appropriate committees, processes, deadlines, and associated administration.
Implement the L&T strategy, projects, and initiatives.
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Returns
Written Briefings and updates on ofs policy and regulations
Keep up to date with regulatory policies and use to inform advise
First point of contact on Academic support matters.
Development of plans L&T Plans and framework
Lead on the submission of data returns including submissions to HESA, CLA, OIA and others, with a high degree of accuracy
Review of Academic Modules
Management and maintenance of academic regulations and administration.
The academic quality assurance processes for the College: QAA, CLA, CMA, Regulatory audits including the writing of Self Evaluation Documents and other such submissions.
The quality and enhancement of all learning & teaching across 13 colleges, including undertaking analysis and follow up of module evaluation surveys.
Learning and Teaching/ Data Analysis and Analytics
Report and Analyze key L&T Academic Performance and regulatory metrics to aid in our continued student satisfaction and quality assurance.
Plan organize and manage the delivery of the annual Learning and Teaching Conference and other L&T events
Be constantly striving for excellence and actively looking to adopt and implement new opportunities, technologies, and initiatives.
Academic Manager Requirements:
Academic management experience in an HE education focused environment
Excellent written communication skills
Excellent use of Power Point and Presentation Skills
Curriculum development experience
Experience of working in an academic environment
Experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (Navigate, Power BI and the Adobe suite)
Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
Experience handling and prioritizing multiple workloads
Clear understanding of the UK Higher Education system
Knowledge of Trends in Higher Education Sector
Clear understanding of the OFS, HESA and QAA's Code of Practice as it informs curriculum enhancement and assurance
Clear understanding of the UKVI T4 regulation.
