As an inclusive organisation we welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. The role is to work within two projects in the Crosby Methodist Circuit. The first is a community garden, where members of the local community can grow food together, whilst sharing community, building relationships and exploring spirituality. The second is a community family project, where families can engage in activities together, be supported in their wellbeing and have opportunities to encounter faith. There will be general responsibilities that are relevant to both projects as well as those unique to each setting. General responsibilities will include:Building relationships with those involved in and connected to the projects, including the team, members, local organisations, schools and businesses.Offering safe spaces to talkSharing personal faith as appropriatePlanning, delivering and evaluating sessionsLeading devotional and spiritual activities as appropriate and requiredCommunity Chaplaincy and networking Moor Lane Community Garden:GardeningDeveloping the garden space to encourage and develop spirituality and wellnessExploring other creative uses for the garden space to engage and bless the wider community The Waterloo Project:Family work within the context of the projectDeveloping wellness activities for families within the sessions and for use at homeExploring the development of a worshipping community within this context About YouYou will be a confident Christian with an active faith and a desire for others to come to know Jesus. The successful candidate will be able to use their initiative, contribute to the projects development and work independently where required, whilst also being committed to collaborative ministry as part of a team. Key Requirements (qualifications and skills)Confidence in personal Christian faith, willingness and ability to share that with othersAble to make connections, listen to others and build relationships with a range of people from all walks of lifeAble to plan and lead group activities, within a gardening and family work settingAble to lead spiritual and faith based activitiesAble to hold in tension the wide range of faith perspectives, theologies and ideologies of others, creating space for people to explore and question in their own timeExperience in family, community or missional work is advantageous but not essential In return, we offer an exceptional pension scheme, generous annual leave entitlement (plus an extra 3 days' leave granted over Christmas/New Year), TOIL, Flexi-leave and in-house Wellbeing Advisers.
