A Hertfordshire based local authority are on the lookout for a Technical Licensing Officer on a 3 month contract (initially) to work under the direction of the Licensing Team Leader to provide comprehensive delivery of Licensing Services to the public and business community.
Through consultation with line manager and in accordance with the Council Constitution, operational protocols and available evidence relating to crime and disorder, public nuisance, public safety and the protection of children from harm determine the need for reviews of licences to fulfil the council's statutory obligations as a "responsible authority"
Provide advice and education to the public, peers and business community in connection with Licensing matters. Assist with the collection and collation of data for statistical surveys, statutory returns, public enquiries and legal proceedings.
Carefully, accurately and lawfully prepare, always ensuring the statutory timescales are met; legitimate, legible and enforceable licences and accompanying relevant conditions; having full and proper regard to the human rights legislation and all other relevant statutory provisions
Take statements from victims and witnesses. Participate in the interview team for persons suspected of committing offences, operate and take responsibility for interview recording equipment in accordance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
Research, prepare and present reports in an appropriate and timely way to the council's licensing committees in relation to licence applications and reviews including making appropriate recommendations regarding the specific case.
Assist with the corporate Licensing response to emergency incidents and civil contingencies
This role has scope for flex-working, and my client are looking to pay £35-£39 per hour umbrella (dependant on experience)
