Director of Sales


£250,000 OTE

ShortList Recruitment are looking for a well-established Director of Sales to join an innovative software company based near Warrington. We are looking for a Senior SAAS software solutions salesperson to, engage clients at board level to help them understand the benefits and solutions that the client offer. The role is responsible for developing key growth sales and marketing strategies, tactics and action plans. The candidate will have a successful track record in new business software sales using a consultative approach. They will also be able to plan the end to end sales / account engagement strategy, work with our architects to develop priced solutions, write proposals and bid responses, and successfully negotiate terms.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts
  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends
  • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
  • Promoting the company's existing brands and introducing new products to the market.
  • Researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans, understanding consumer requirements, identifying market trends, and suggesting system improvements to achieve the company's marketing goals.

Key Experience required:

  • Proven sales executive experience, meeting or exceeding targets
  • Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing director
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C level
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors
  • Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Strong lead generation experience
  • Broad marketing experience, preferably in a tech or high growth business
  • Proven success in building impactful integrated marketing programs driving awareness and demand.
  • Long term engagements as a trusted and strategic partner

This Director of Sales role is commutable from Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Runcorn, Liverpool, Chester, Bolton, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and surrounding areas.

The Director of Sales role is based near Warrington it comes with remote working options, there is a requirement for UK travel and there will be the need to travel to the Netherlands every quarter.
