Refugee Info Bus Fundraising & Comms CoordinatorLocation: Calais, France (ideal) or remotely - please include your preference in your applicationCommitment: Minimum 6 months (generally 5 volunteering days and 2 days off each week)Start date: ASAP/November 2021Accommodation: Shared accommodation providedReimbursement: Flat rate £550 volunteer expenses per monthHolidays/breaks: Every two monthsAbout Refugee Info BusRefugee Info Bus provides WiFi and charge, phone services, legal information and practical information guides to communities in Northern France. We work across different living sites in Calais, working out of a mobile bus with a team of 5 to 6 volunteers. Our charging sessions are roughly 2.5 hours long with 3 volunteers present for each session. Our team lives in shared accommodation with space for home working - the majority of the role is expected to be carried out from this accommodation if the candidate is able to be located in Calais.ResponsibilitiesFundraising and Comms volunteering (at least 60% of role)Grant Applications; researching and applying for grants from UK, French and international trusts, foundations and organisationsMaintaining good working relationships with our current grant makers and providing them with updates on the situation in Northern France and the work Refugee Info Bus is doingRunning online fundraisers in coordination with our team on the groundManaging and creating content for our social media channels, email updates and newsletterCreating and editing comms content in coordination with other organisations in Calais on joint fundraising and comms effortsGeneral volunteering (up to 40% of role)Attend and support regular Info Bus sessions at sites around Calais with other team members to deliver services and distribute cables, plugs and sim cards. Working with other volunteers on stocking the van, setting up charging stations, spending time with the people using our services, providing refreshments, cleaning down after shifts, and other tasks as required.Follow team protocol to ensure that distributions and the delivery of WiFi, charging and information services are carried out in a safe, orderly and dignified manner at each location, in coordination with the rest of the volunteer team. Support the team in the maintenance of the equipment (van, car, generator, WiFi system and other items).RequirementsEssentialCriminal record certificate - DBS check or equivalent (if Calais based)Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
