Summary

Nova Innovation is seeking an experienced supply chain professional with a passion for negotiating excellent deals and developing strong relationships with supply chain partners.

The Role

The Senior Buyer / Procurement Manager will develop and manage Nova's supply chain relationships to ensure that we secure excellent value for money in the products and services that we procure, in terms of quality, cost and timescales.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Leading procurement and overseeing assistant buyer
  • Purchasing goods, materials, components and services in line with specification, cost, quality and delivery targets
  • Identifying and qualifying potential suppliers for products and services, in conjunction with Nova colleagues
  • Developing high quality requests for quotation and assessing bids received
  • Leading negotiations with suppliers to secure the best possible value for money
  • Developing, reviewing and negotiating supply contract terms and conditions, and consortium/partnership agreements for collaborative projects
  • Negotiating annual insurance policies in line with company requirements
  • Working with suppliers to ensure that ordered products and services are delivered to the required levels of quality and cost, and in the required timescales
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Nova's key suppliers
  • Managing and developing Nova's procurement policy and processes, to ensure that they are as streamlined and timely as possible, designed to optimise value for money, and subject to appropriate levels of financial control
  • Ongoing coaching of Nova staff in good practice in supplier management


Attributes

We would expect applicants to have the following attributes:
  • A passion for negotiating excellent deals and building strong supplier relationships
  • Experience in procurement and supply chain management in a relevant industry
  • Experience with international imports and exports
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness
  • Ability to anticipate and manage supply chain risks
  • Self-starting, positive, flexible and able to thrive and drive in a dynamic environment


It would be advantageous if applicants had:
  • Experience within a fast-growing engineering/manufacturing business
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems

With a full order book, Nova is looking for a Senior Buyer / Procurement Manager to support the continued development of Nova's tidal technology and scale-up of the business.

Conditions, Remuneration and Benefits

The position can either be part-time or full time depending on the candidate and/or level of experience. Competitive salary is negotiable depending on experience. We also offer a pension scheme with an employer matching contribution up to maximum of 5% of salary.

Annual holidays are 25 days per annum plus 8 public holidays (pro rata).
