The Payroll Manager is responsible for assisting the Head of Financial Control to manage the payroll function & provide excellent customer service. They are responsible for ensuring Copart payroll processes are followed to the highest standard. To liaise with Copart teammates on a day-to-day basis and to provide support to the Head of Financial Control where required.

Ensure the day to day operation of payroll function runs smoothly and within timelines
Providing comprehensive guidance on payroll related process, pension and benefit related matters to our people
Take ownership of Payroll related SOX controls
Complete all payroll related Government statistics for example Gender Pay Reporting
Keep up to date with any changes in legislation affecting payroll
Manage the transition (change management) onto a new payroll application (Ceridian) and ensure timelines are being met
Recruit and induct all new starters and continue their journey by coaching, developing and supporting them to succeed and grow.
Continually measure your team performance through appropriate KPIs and other indicators
Review the Customer Experience, both internally and externally, looking for continuous improvement within the Accounts Payable process
Effectively communicates with team-mates at all levels across the finance team, Operating Centres, and the wider business
Ensure colleague engagement is high through using surveys to create and action plans to improve across all measures of engagement.

Essential Skills

A minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role
Excellent people management and leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written skills
Proficient in IT and excel
Customer service focused (both internal and external customers)
Experience of Ceridian would be an advantage
