North London (Hemel Area)

Our client, a world-leading approvals body, is now seeking a Technician to assist in preparing and supporting the construction of experiments within their laboratory workshop.

You will work collaboratively and flexibly amongst a wider team of Technicians and Test Engineers to provide the full range of activities required to prepare and conduct the testing of products.

Activities will include the fitting and installation of constructional elements onto the test frames and loading of large ovens, installation and set-up of instrumentation such as thermocouples and transducers, maintenance of equipment, off-loading/loading of deliveries, plus many more tasks to support their Test Engineers and ensuring they provide a first-class testing service to their clients.

We are not expecting candidates to come from a similar background and instead seek a tradesperson with solid practical skills who can also follow an engineering drawing.

You will also:

* Maintain the workshop laboratory and associated spaces in line with housekeeping standards.

* Liaise with the laboratory team leader and project leaders to ensure test preparations are on track.

* Liaise with clients whilst providing an excellent client experience.

* Work in accordance with our UKAS accreditation by following all relevant procedures.

* Work safely in compliance with all safe operating systems.

Candidates with a Fork Lift, Fork Truck, Counter Balance, Counterbalance licence will have a distinct advantage for this post although this is not essential and training can be given.
