REED Education are currently seeking qualified teachers to take on tutor roles in some of our local primary schools through the National Tutoring Programme. The tutors will be working with children on a 1:3 basis and leading sessions in both English and Maths. Tutor roles are full time and will be for a minimum of 15 weeks beginning on or around the 1st of November. The aim for these roles, is to bridge the gaps in childrens' knowledge and to increase attainment. Our ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with the class teacher to plan, assess and set targets for the children.

Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading sessions to small groups of children to boost attainment and close gaps
  • Plan some sessions and prepare resources as appropriate
  • Having excellent time management to start and end sessions on time
  • Work collaboratively alongside the class teacher to plan lessons and share feedback from these in order to set appropriate future targets and lessons
  • Establishing a supportive, caring, and safe relationship with pupils and acting as a positive role model for them
  • Must hold QTS and PGCE or equivalent
