Role Summary

Part-editor, part-SEO, part-content strategist!

We are looking for a SEO & Content Manager to join our team. The SEO Content Manager will be responsible for planning, editing, and managing content primarily for our web and SEO channels as well as executing our digital Content & PR campaigns.

This is an extremely cross-functional role and requires a unique individual that is deeply strategic and process driven, but equally can partner up effectively with different teams across the organisation as well as our external agencies.

Key Activities
  • Own our Organic web content strategy, including actively managing our internal SEO for our Retail website.
  • Work with our internal and external teams & agencies.
  • Conduct research and develop frameworks for PPL to think about our overall cross-channel content opportunities and gaps.
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver project work to tackle these opportunities and report back on the performance of our overall content efforts.
  • Develop an integrated and more effective and scalable process for content creation.
  • Monitor and report back on content performance and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Create and maintain content for the organisation's web presence Proofreading and editing copy for web publication from other teams and sources, both internal and external. Publishing news stories and web changes across two corporate Content Management Systems.
  • Selecting, preparing, uploading, and publishing imagery for use in stories on our website.
  • Supporting other publishing activities in the team, making checks on materials to ensure our updates are always 100% accurate.
  • Ensure that wherever possible, web standards and best practice are observed. Work with content owners and stakeholders to develop, refine and finalize information for public release.

Required Skills:
  • Experience of content marketing & strategy experience, ideally client side in global set-ups.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices, and experience working with SEO teams.
  • Experience or training in copywriting.
  • Proven track record of driving impact through scalable content marketing efforts across a global organization.
  • Good mix of data driven thinking but with appreciation for creatives.
  • Self-starter and problem solver.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to influence without authority.
  • Hands-on, organised, and detail-oriented while not losing sight of the big picture.
  • Experience in using CMS systems to update websites.
  • Experience in and understanding of what makes an appealing news story, how best to frame different types of story, and an appreciation of how to generally present materials online to ensure the best user experience.
  • Experience working to tight deadlines, dealing with competing priorities, in a fast-paced and pressured environment, balancing scheduled routine activities, project work and unexpected, high-priority tasks.

  • Previous experience in online gaming or subscription-based product
  • Adobe CRM

  • Experience with SEM Rush
  • Google Analytics

Additional Information

Whilst the core hours of the role will be 37.5 hours per week, worked Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm, working out with these hours may be required from time to time, where necessary time will be given in lieu. The role is predominantly office based however, due to the nature of some projects, occasional travel may be required within Europe.

Due to the current circumstances surrounding Covid-19, this role will be based from home until it is safe to return to the office in line with government guidelines.
