NHS Lothian

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, creative, and dynamic individual to join the central Project Office within NHS Lothian. The Health Board is entering a challenging, but ground-breaking time as the recovery from Covid begins. You will be at the forefront of innovation and joining at a dynamic time.

Our patients are at the heart of everything that we do, and our aim is to provide safe and compassionate care, every time. Our focus is on providing right care, right place, right time, first time and everything we do is aimed at delivering high-quality, best-value care when and where our patients need it.

As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering projects across the Strategic Planning (incl capital projects) and Finance Portfolios. As a forward thinking change professional, you will work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to shape your projects; delivering short, medium and long term benefits, and developing an evidence base for future investment which ensures the organisation puts the patient at the heart of any decision.

You will be a key member of our team, working in a high performing, creative and supportive environment. An excellent communicator, you will work across a multi-disciplinary, multi-organisational network. This can be often an autonomous role where excellent problem-solving abilities, diplomacy and aptitude to provide innovation are key skills.

Join us

You should be educated to degree level with a high level of analytical skills and the ability to apply practical problem solving in a complex environment.

Significant demonstrable experience of designing and delivering across all project phases; initiation, design, implementation, transition, and support is essential, with a commitment to co-production.

You should have excellent written and verbal communications skills, the ability to work with a range of stakeholders at all levels, and negotiation and diplomacy skills which will help you to facilitate discussions and design and deliver the scale and pace of change required.

You will be expected to provide leadership to shape your projects, utilising knowledge, and insights from subject matter experts, and evidencing success through monitoring and evaluation.
