Are you a Finance Assistant seeking a role within the Educational Sector? I am currently assisting our Coventry based client to recruit for a 9 month FTC position.
Finance Assistants in the team undertake a range of duties that will vary in accordance with the special focus of their team and the customers to whom they will provide a service. In all cases they will be expected to work efficiently as part of an effective team supporting the Assistant Faculty accountants and more senior colleagues in the wider Finance Department.
Responsibilities will include:
* Validates all journal requests prior to posting to the General Ledger (GL) and follows up queries with relevant colleagues to ensure complete and compliant GL journals are posted.
*GL maintenance - setting up new GL codes, deleting and dormant old codes, update code descriptions, advising on coding issues and posting budget virements.
* Running Trial balance reports. Review and maintain intercompany, intracompany, recharge and suspense accounts.
*Assist the Senior Business Partner and Assistant Accountant in the annual estimates, year end, monthly accounts and quarterly forecasting processes.
* Monitors and reports all schools income and expenditure actual and forecasts and reconciles these back to the approved budgets.
*Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely information required for external and internal auditors.
The ideal candidate will possess proven ability to:
*carry out at least basic extraction and analysis of data and produce outline reports based on findings.
*Advising staff throughout the group on matters relating to the work of the team.
*Skilled in a variety of software packages and the ability to learn other packages.
*Undertaking project work as required by senior staff and to help with own staff development where required to help with qualifications.
* Good understanding of the general ledger code structure.
