We are looking for a Learning & Development professional to shape our Academies and Professional Development strategy.

In this exciting opportunity you will lead the development and delivery of the academies & professional development strategy at CRUK, in order to maximise our utilisation of the apprenticeship levy. You will define the organisation approach to professional development, and academy-based learning & development through growth of our Retail Academy identification of new academy opportunities.

What will I be doing?
  • Working with relevant stakeholders to assess organisational learning needs and establish Academy priorities
  • Planning and developing the approach to offering professional development (primarily through Apprenticeships) across CRUK
  • Partnering with L&D Business Partners and Managers to define and embed an Academies strategy which aligns with the skills and capability priorities across the organisation
  • Ensuring effective delivery and development of retail apprenticeships
  • Managing relationships with apprenticeship training providers
  • Providing regular and accurate reporting and forecasts on levy utilisation
  • Ensuring CRUK's employer provider status is maintained for Retail Apprenticeships and all OFSTED requirements are met
  • Leading and managing direct reports, including setting objectives, regular coaching and feedback and day to day management to ensure L&D activities are delivered to a high standard.

What skills are you looking for?

You'll be able to bring to the role:
  • Significant experience of working in partnership with internal business customers to assess needs and deliver successful L&D solutions
  • Experience of designing and delivering large-scale Learning, Apprenticeship or Professional development programmes
  • Excellent relationship management and influencing skills with the ability to adapt style and approach to different audiences
  • Effective planning and project management skills with the ability to set and work to deadlines in complex, matrixed environments
  • Excellent people management skills, ensuring staff are supported, motivated and challenged to achieve objectives
