Employment Senior Associate (5+ PQE)

The firm

  • Top 50 law firm with over 200 partners and around 1,600 staff in total.
  • 13 locations in the UK and a significant international network. Their clients include some of the largest financial, automotive, and technology businesses in the UK.
  • They champion diversity and inclusion, and do everything they can to attract and nurture a diverse group of people and to create an environment and culture that is genuinely inclusive, in which every member of staff feels valued for their contribution.
  • They have been awarded Gold status in the Law Society Diversity and Inclusion Charter in recognition of our commitment to this.
  • They were the first major law firm to achieve "Gold Standard" Investors in People.

The team
  • They aim to act as an extension of our clients' business and understand how they operate - partnering with them to drive improvement and add value in many different ways - not just by delivering legal advice.
  • The team primarily works with employer clients on a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters.
  • They also have specialists in advocacy, corporate work and business immigration. In addition, they operate as a single team across our London and Thames Valley offices (Tier 1 ranked) and work for a variety of blue chip clients and/or household names.

The role

  • They are looking for talented, passionate employment lawyers from 5 yr PQE+ upwards to join their team in London. They pride ourselves on having the culture and the technology to support flexible working practices which are even more relevant following the events of this year and will be considered wherever possible.
  • As part of a small team you will be able to take responsibility and shape your own development and the course of the team. They have straightforward, transparent routes to promotion and genuinely believe they have something different to offer you for your long term career.
  • Working in this team, you would enjoy a varied case load including an impressive track record in ET and EAT cases. Recent hires in this region have unlocked great opportunities for corporate support work as well as stand-alone employment work and they have continuing scope to develop our practice further.
  • They want to hear from you if you'd like to be part of a busy, thriving team with national and international reach. They are looking for an employment generalist with a good mix of contentious and advisory experience, ideally with experience of the financial services sector.
  • Experience in corporate support and litigation is desirable. They will be impressed by ambitious lawyers who take the initiative, command strong relationships with their key clients, enjoy business development and have a desire to work as part of a team to make their individual mark.
  • 2020 has seen the dawning of a new lexicon for employment lawyers - they've been at the cutting edge of understanding measures and developments put in place to navigate the impact of a global pandemic.
  • They have continued to put their clients at the centre of everything they do to advise them with innovative solutions and commitment and they are looking for like-minded individuals to join them in that effort.
  • They are a values-driven business - their values are at the core of the firm and evaluate how they behave in accordance with these values through a competency framework.

What you'll get in return

  • Flexible working options available.
  • Fantastic clients and high-quality work.
  • Competitive salary.
