Our client a dynamic, multi-Partner firm of Chartered Accountants are seeking an Audit Senior to join their team in Guildford.

In this role the Senior will be responsible for dealing with the audit and accounts for a portfolio of clients, including Partnerships and Sole Traders, as well as those in the Education sector, with turnovers in excess of £10M plus. The position has an audit bias and the work will be split approximately 75% audit and 25% accounts, although this will vary during busy periods where the audit content may be higher.

Duties will include the following:-
  1. Preparation and audit of statutory accounts to comply with UK GAAP and International auditing and accounting standards.
  2. Preparation of accounts for partnerships and sole traders.
  3. Preparation of management accounts.
  4. Responsible for the training and supervision of new and junior members of staff in all aspects of accountancy and audit, and the use of CCH accounting software. Review work done by junior members of staff.
  5. Liaising with clients and dealing with general enquiries and resolving issues where necessary, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  6. Being involved with business development and the introduction of new clients.
  7. Visiting client premises to carry out audits and supervising junior staff on-site.
  8. Other Ad-Hoc duties as and when required

You may also be required to visit the firm's other office in London from time to time, depending on workload.

You will ideally hold a professional qualification such as ACCA/ACA, as well as having a strong audit and accounts background within practice, with technical knowledge of UK GAAP and International auditing and accounting standards.

It would also be an advantage if you have a good working knowledge of accounting programmes such as CCHProAudit software and CCH Accounts Production.

They offer a 35 hour flexi-time week and currently there is an option of working both in the office and from home.
