Downe House is a leading full boarding school in Berkshire, which aims to provide holistic education for girls. It is a school with a sharp focus on the future which fuels aspiration and challenges the girls as they grow into confident young women. The wealth of opportunities enables girls to develop their intellectual curiosity both in the UK and abroad and the School is soon to open a sister school in Muscat, Oman. Their strong digital strategy and approach to technology illustrates that Downe House is a school committed to preparing girls for their future.

Downe House is now seeking to appoint a Director of Finance and Business Enterprise to join the Leadership Team of the School. This newly created post presents an opportunity to take the bursarial support for the School to the next level. The role, reporting to the Headmistress, will be responsible for all financial matters within the School, in addition to exploring and developing possible international and UK partnership opportunities.

Candidates will be finance professionals with, ideally, experience gained in an international context. They will have a proven track record of effective budget planning and management, and experience of leading significant projects. A background in education would be useful but not essential, but an interest in the educational and pastoral needs of young people will be important.

Downe House is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced disclosure from the DBS.

Saxton Bampfylde Ltd is acting as an employment agency advisor to Downe House School on this appointment.
