Vision for Education is seeking to appoint SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN TA / SEN Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA to join our successful team and to work in a Primary Setting within the South Gloucester area.

The desired SEND Teaching Assistant / SEN TA / SEN Learning Support Assistant / SEN LSA should have experience working with primary aged pupils, specifically KS2 / Key Stage Two, with SEN, and ideally hold a TA or HLTA qualifications. The successful applicant will have had previous experience in supporting individuals with a Visual Impairments and ideally be able to read and teach Braille or a willingness to be trained in this.

This position is to support a student on a 1:1 basis, however depending upon their timetable you may be required to work with small groups of children. This is a temporary post subject to funding ending when the funding ceases or the child leaves the school.

This primary setting boasts fantastic outside space, community support and a well-established SLT. Working closely with the wider community, parents and guardians. You will be working closely with the classroom teacher to plan innovative and engaging lessons that will meet the needs of the child you will be working with.

Requirements

To be considered for the SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN TA / SEN Learning Support Assistant / SEN LSA, the minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

Ideally (but not essential) hold a TA or HLTA qualification or graduate seeking experience in the education sector
Experience working with children with special educational needs ideally supporting pupils with Visual Impairments

Have current/recent experience (within the last two years)

Be flexible, resilient and the ability to think on their feet
hold a current enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to undergo one through Vision for Education and have it registered on the Update Service
