Job Title: Technician (Batteries)

Location: Bedfordshire

Job Type: Full-Time

Working Hours: 40 hrs a week

Salary: Competitive

The Client:

We are working with a leading automotive company with more than a century of heritage to work within their test and validation team. The work will support a team supplying customers across a number of industries, including defence, automotive & defence, providing 3rd party testing services.

The Role:

The business is seeking a Battery Technician to work in a battery testing team. The facility can support a wide variety of tests from immersion to crush testing.

Responsibilities of a Technician within the business include:

Strip servicing and preparation of batteries for customers.
Testing support for destructive testing of batteries.
Maintenance and good housekeeping of test facilities.
Setting up automated tests.
Following site safety processes, including appropriate risk assessments.
Reviewing and reporting test results.

Experience & Qualifications:

Working with Lithium Ion batteries in an automotive or testing environment.
Competent user of relevant test and data reporting software, such as Simulink/MatLab
An understanding of CAN (Controller Area Network) in automotive is preferred.
Aware of automotive electrical High Voltage connectivity techniques.
Ability to understand basic electrical schematics.
Hands on assembly and fabrication skills / experience.

Knowledge of or interest in Li (Lithium) Ion batteries would be of advantage to your application.
