Matthew, the primary consultant at Tara is working on behalf of a Newport based infant School to assist them in the recruitment of a KS1 Teaching Assistant for a May 2021 start.

We are currently searching for a Year 1 Teaching Assistant. The successful applicant will be supporting pupils in small groups as well as general classroom support.

The intervention work will be rewarding but also little challenging supporting pupils who have fallen behind in attainment, by offering additional bespoke support in the classroom.

This school is situated within proximity the M54 & A49, Whitchurch, Market Drayton and the Newport areas. The school has an excellent EYFS and KS1 departments, with scores remaining above the city and national averages.

The last OFSTED, report was GOOD overall.

This school has strong links with their surrounding community including local nurseries and has its own nursery on site.

We would like applicants to have demonstrative experience in either Reception or Year 1 and competency in Letters & Sounds, Phonics, Phonics Screening and assessment in line with the EYFS.

• Hold a relevant UK teaching assistant qualification
Bachelor of Education or a Level 2 or 3 qualification in a childcare related course
GCSE English and Maths grade C or above

• Knowledge of the UK EYFS Curriculum
Be able to provide reference of a minimum of 3 months in a UK based Primary school
