A field service engineer position has become available with an OEM of CNC cutting equipment in the UK.

They're a global business with a presence in every continent. They specialize in providing automation and processing solutions to clients across various manufacturing sectors. They have a head office here in the UK for machine storage, refurbishment and distribution, as well as a global headquarters in Europe where the machines are built.

This position offers a strong basic salary of up to £35K and an OTE of £45K+, travel time door to door, overtime weekday and weekends, overnight stay allowances, no call out or standby, company van and fuel card, 33 days holiday, company pension, private healthcare and much more.

Responsibilities for the role include -

Installation, Commissioning, Breakdown maintenance & Service of CNC machines and special purpose equipment
Routine service, checks and breakdown maintenance both mechanical and electrical
Part of a team of 12 engineers, who cover the whole of the UK, with occasional overseas travel for training
Providing end user support to customers as well as training and demos
Use of laptop to complete all service and maintenance documentation, and to submit timesheets / expensesThere is a strong training package with this role too, working for an OEM they offer product training in the UK and in Europe, as well as a technical support team who are office based, that support engineers in the field with software or troubleshooting issues.

Nationwide travel is expected at times, however the business do aim to keep engineers as regional as possible.

To be successful in this role you will have -

- Previous experience as a field service engineer working for a similar OEM of capital equipment
- Multi skilled both mechanically and electrically, along with electrical training ideally to city & guilds or equivalent.
- Confidence with carrying out repairs to HMI screens, SCADA and other interfaces
- Have a solid understanding of PLC's to fault find on inputs and outputs
- Willingness to travel nationally, as well as travelling overseas occasionally for training at the head office
- Full clean drivers license

The business are prepared to be as flexible and supportive as possible, overnight stays and extensive travel is ideally kept to a minimum, but the business requires an individual who is prepared to do both when necessary. In return the company can be equally flexible when needing time off or working around other engagements
