Hours of work vary between 23 and 57.5 hours per week, averaging 40.25 hours per week over a 14 day period.

Main purpose of job:

To support the Mould Operations as a key Engineering resource to optimise both uptime and quality, therefore reducing cost and waste with regard to all equipment and technical processes within mould.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

Rebooting programmes of currently Whitmann, Sepro, Engel and Kuka Robots

Designing and building E.O.A.T's

Promote a 'behavioural safety' culture within the Mould Shop, targeting zero injuries

Data analysis, studies, reports and corrective actions to optimise uptime and equipment effectiveness for all Automation

To both carry our repairs and modifications as well as co-ordinate them through the maintenance team and with suppliers

Lead activity on robotics and all associated Ancillary equipment

Champion Automation equipment KPI`s and manage performance to ensure the departmental targets can be met

Arrange servicing programmes and optimise performance and cost reduction opportunities

To audit equipment condition on an internal schedule

Ensure TPM schedules are suitable to balance performance and cost

To train and share knowledge with the Technical group in order to optimise uptime

Manage robot gripper introduction, design and controls including safe storage

Manage the introduction of new Ancillary equipment into the Mould shop

To deal with suppliers and customers on Ancillary related items

To manage obsolete stock and ensure safe storage is available for all current equipment

Key requirements:

A clear understanding of processes, procedures and quality systems (ISO 9001, TS16949, IATF16949)

Strong communication skills at all levels within the business and with customers

Effective continuous improvement skills (5S, 7 wastes, SMED

Literacy, numeracy and computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

A proven control and automation practical understanding within a fast paced manufacturing background
