£85-95k plus bonus & package,
A leading online publisher and virtual events business have continued to grow year on year (even during the pandemic) and are increasing their investment into their digital transformation programme. With the development team set to double in the next 6-12 months, they require a Development Manager to a team of approx 18 developers.
Reporting into the Head of Technology, the Development Manager will be responsible for delivering a pipeline of projects covering digital applications such as consumer facing websites and platforms, MarTech and CRM applications, and backend big data, analytics and reporting platforms.
Day to day the Development Manager will work closely with the Head of Technology, Data Director, stakeholders from the business and the Product team to:
Input into architectural and development choices
Identify and prioritise backlogs
Contribute to high level estimates
Working closely with the Lead Developer and Development teams, the Development Manager will:
Allocate work packages to the Lead Developers both inhouse and nearshore (Poland)
Implement and own processes and the development team's output, incl quality of work
Help to mature Agile processes across the development team, focusing on Scrum
Ensure processes are followed whilst ensuring flexibility in a scale up / scale down approach to meet changing needs of the business
Help to improve the development team's ability to automate QA and deployment by implementing CI/CD processes and culture
Ability to identity, label and remove blockers, freeing up the development team's time and improve productivity
Report to senior stakeholders including burn up/down, resourcing, delivery, etc.
Development Managers will have a proven experience in:
Working in structured environments
Implementing or maturing agile processes
Managing offshore teams
A background in development (although this is a hands-off role)
