Role: Music Technology Teacher

GSL Education are currently looking to appoint a Music Technology Teacher from September 2021 for one of our client educational institutions located in Slough.
This post is suitable for those with either a mainstream or special school background, with a strong understanding of SEMH and how to meet pupils' needs. If you are the teacher that vulnerable pupils seem to gravitate towards or who all the 'naughty' children get sent to, then this setting may well be for you. We have a comprehensive induction and support package, along with a range of high quality CPD that will support further career development.
The ideal candidate will find this post challenging, exciting, varied and fulfilling. You will be working across the College with a range of dedicated staff, including Heads of Centre, SENDCo and Leaders of Learning who all want to achieve the best possible outcomes for our cohort of young people.
As a Teacher of Music Technology, you will have experience of teaching pupils with a range of vulnerabilities, challenging behavior or SEND, and above all, have the desire and drive to see the most vulnerable young people in society succeed. Experience of teaching NCFE Level 1 and Level 2 Music Technology or equivalent specifications is desired.
You will be an energetic, highly resilient and adaptable individual who can ensure challenges are met and problems are solved. A high level of understanding of SEMH, SEND, safeguarding, equality and fairness are very important, as well as a good sense of humour, openness and compassion; all of which will be needed in this role to support young people through these challenging times.
About the role:
Working with Heads of Centre and the Board of Trustees, you will provide vision and strategic leadership which inspires and motivates young people, staff and all other members of the College community.
Working with small classes of up to 8 pupils, you will deliver your subject to ensure that all young people you teach make at least expected progress towards becoming independent learners.
Working with the Moving on Coordinator/Careers Lead, you will embed the College's approach to CEAIG to ensure the successful transition of young people into further Education, Employment or Training.
To carry out the duties of this post in line with the remit outlined in the current School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document including the conditions of employment for teachers and the College policies.
The successful candidate will:
Be an experienced Music Technology teacher
Have experience teaching at both KS3 and KS4.
Be a qualified teacher with QTS or QTLS.
Be proven to raise and maintain attainment levels, keeping standards high.
Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who leads by example.
Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills with excellent behaviour management strategies.
