Job Description
I am currently recruiting for an interim Head of Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) Analysis with the new UK Infrastructure Bank.We are recruiting an ESG specialist to help the UK Infrastructure Bank set up its ESG function and to build a team capable of managing the ESG impacts of our future £22bn portfolio.Duties of the role
  • You will be a key part of portfolio direction and analysis, with a particular involvement in Climate related risks and opportunities and social and economic impacts. This is alongside Impact specialists on the Bank's net zero and local and regional growth objectives.
  • You will help the Bank to review and develop external ESG investing commitments by developing insightful ESG-related analysis, including contributing to UKIB's external strategy.
  • You will work across the Bank to help banking, risk, communications and strategy teams to assess the ESG impacts of investments. This is a high-visibility, dynamic and high-accountability role working with cross-functional teams across the business.
  • There is potential to build a small team to help assess investments and support monitoring and reporting on ESG issues.
The Successful Applicant
  • Analytical skills, understanding of data and ESG analysis for both individual infrastructure assets and at a portfolio level.
  • Understanding of decarbonisation and regional economic policy.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams, external stakeholders and develop relationships with senior management
  • Proven resilience and comfort operating in an uncertain environment.
  • Understanding of decarbonisation and regional economic policy.
Experience and qualifications
  • 5-10 years' experience in sustainability, ESG, financial analysis of infrastructure, low carbon or social impact investments.
  • Understanding of lending, infrastructure finance or corporate finance, to both the private sector and or to local authorities.
  • Experience setting up a new ESG function, organisation or commercial institution.
  • Preferably CFA Chartered membership status or similar expertise.

Initial 6-month contract likely to be extended paying a highly competitive day rate
