Morson are currently working with the nuclear Generation Service team that are a lifetime partner to EDF Energy Nuclear Generation. Their team are essential to the safe and secure supply of carbon free generation here in the UK with team members performing Project Management, Engineering, Technical, Scientific, Consultancy, Analysis and Testing services to EDF.
In this role you will be part of a several hundred strong GS team across the UK, however you will work within smaller Portfolio team based at the EDF Energy Hinkley Point B Power Station with occasional business travel to EDF sites and stations. You will have an Operations Manager and Site Lead as your reporting line.
Here's What You'll Need:
Typically, HNC or equivalent qualification or experience in an appropriate discipline e.g. civil, C&I, electrical etc.
Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification. Training and Development can be provided in the role.
Supervision of work to high standards of performance in line with Project Procedures and applicable Standards, through the leadership of Setting to Work briefings with safety and quality focus and completion of site surveys and pre job walk downs to ensure all aspects of the work are captured and any special requirements identified and actioned.
Routinely reviews fleet OPEX and project lessons learned (with post job de-briefs) and applies to improve performance in their work area. Contributes to fleet OPEX and lessons learned with safety audits, safety stand-downs and toolbox talks.
Management with directions, expectations, and priorities for daily activities with clearly communication to personnel and third-party contractors, followed by reviews of third-party contractor method statements, risk assessments, other documents, and drawings.
Ensures teams are adequately resourced to deliver the requested work to the project schedule, including daily manning levels, and monitoring progress against the project schedule and provides regular reports as required by the Project Manager and Construction Manager.
Prepares work order cards and supporting documents and drawings. Carries out role of APSA when authorised.
Perform the duties of a Field Supervisor and performs supervision commensurate with the complexity and importance of the activity to ensure safety and quality of the work performed, by spending time in the field monitoring, observing and assessing performance to maintain and reinforce high standards of work. Aspects monitored include work practices, application of HU tools, application of industrial safety and radiological protection practices, compliance with environmental requirements.
On occasion the Project Engineer (Construction) may also perform the duty of a Nominated Supervisor
