SEND Classroom Assistant - Hexham

Do you have a passion for working with children and young people with Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs and want to make a positive impact on their lives?

Milk education are working in parnership with a large Specialist Austim School in Hexham for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties aged 2 to 19 years.

We are seeking to appoint a number of dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Classroom Assistants to support children for day to day, short-term and long-term/full time roles.

Previous experience of working with children and/or working with children or young people with learning difficulties is desirable.

The successful candidates will be expected to work with pupils of all ages and to undertake all activities as required during their time at the school and be able to work as part of a team as well as being able to use initiative when appropriate.

If successful you will work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the class in the management of pupils. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the normal teaching area, which may include swimming, riding for the disabled etc.

What you need to apply:

* Experience working with children within the past 2 years (Voluntary welcome)
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to complete this)
* Enthusiastic attitude towards inspiring children
* Relevant qualifications in childcare

* Flexible and can work across both Primary and Secondary age groups
