The post holder reports to Administration Manager and has the responsibility for the day to day operation of the Patient Affairs Department for an Acute Hospital and any outlying sites, also includes Nursing Homes thus ensuring safe custody of all Hospital Income receipts and Patient Private Funds in accordance with Standing Financial Instructions and other relevant statute and regulations. Your duties will include prepare and maintain hospital income receipts collection register, prepare daily income and expenditure figures for submission to the Finance Department. You will process banking of all revenue income i.e. telephones, vending, medical search fees and Patient Private Funds income ranging from £1K-£10k, ensure that all transactions are accompanied by receipts and appropriate documentation is completed and detailed according to SFIS. You will record all Patient Private Funds income and expenditure through computerised cash ledger, reconciliation of all cash and cheque transactions. You will provide a weekly/monthly reconciliation of all PPF monies and bank account transactions this ensuring that patient affairs computerised records, cash ledger and bank all reconcile correctly. You should have an SVQ3 in Accounting or equivalent experience, excellent Communication, Organisational & Listening Skills and sound Knowledge of Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 to support the Deputy Site and Facilities Manager when requested. You should also have sound Knowledge of current Department of Works and Pensions benefit and travelling expenses entitlements and Knowledge of Financial Operating Procedures (Control and Management of Patient Private Funds and Property at Ward Level). The shift pattern for this post is Monday Friday 8.30am 4.30pm.
