We are looking for 2.0 WTE Band 3 Dietetic Support Workers to join our friendly Weight Management team. We are a service that works towards the National Standards for Adult Weight Management and involved in the set up and delivery of the type 2 diabetes prevention, early detection and intervention framework. We work closely alongside our colleagues in NHS Fife and Lothian. Following training and achievement of competencies you will assist dietitians with assessments, treatment and monitoring of patients. They will be responsible for the administration of their clinical caseload and group sessions. They will co-deliver group programmes with a qualified therapist. Service delivery will involve face to face and virtual contact in both group and one to one support settings. The post holders are required to have good organisational skills, developed IT skills and excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential. Our service is committed to the training of student dietitians and other health care professionals. The department encouraged innovation and supports continuous professional development.
The post will be based at the Borders General Hospital but may be required to travel throughout the borders in order to deliver service needs, a driving licence is desirable. This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record.
