You will be responsible for the day to day organisation of the Extended Services Childcare (Breakfast, After School and Holiday clubs) provision at this Primary School.
You will deliver high standards of care and an exciting experience for our 4 to 11 year olds. You will provide children with a stimulating range of activities and play opportunities in a safe and secure environment, fostering friendships, supporting positive wellbeing and promoting fun for all!
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Be responsible for the day to day management and organisation of the extended services childcare provision.
Provide leadership and management to a team of assistants and play workers, allocating tasks, directing their work and supervising their activities.
Planning, preparing and delivering a suitable programme of imaginative and innovative activities suitable to the needs and interests of the children.
Be responsible for the smooth running of the sessions by ensuring that there are adequate provisions for planned activities and refreshments.
Be a positive role model for children and staff, setting high expectations of behaviour and provision.
After School Club
Coordinate and help with the set up and clear away of all equipment/activities before and after all after-school club sessions
Be responsible for planning the menu and undertaking and over-seeing the safe preparation of food
(food hygiene qualification provided)
Have due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and to follow the school's
child protection policy.
Liaise with the school with regard to the needs of the children who attend.
Co-ordinate and promote the building of strong links between the after-school club and parents
Ensure that adequate standards of safety and hygiene are maintained throughout the after-school childcare, including the completion of appropriate risk assessments and recording and reporting of hazards and accidents.
Assist with the booking process for holiday clubs
Be responsible for planning the activities and ordering all consumables for the holiday club
Liaise with all Holiday Club Staff as and when required
Management and Administration
Uphold and implement relevant policies, guidance and procedures of the school, and ensure that all staff work within the policies, guidance and procedures of the school.
Answer all eMail enquiries from parents in respect of extended services
Maintain electronic and paper records relating to the management of the extended services clubs ensuring confidentiality and data protection of the children, their families and members of staff.
Liaise with the school's Business Manager to ensure control of after school club budget and be responsible for the ordering and purchasing of equipment, supplies and resources.
Be the first point of contact for handling and resolving complaints from parents.
Be responsible for the day to day administration and record keeping that includes maintaining records of attendance and providing information returns and other appropriate records as required including an accident book and first aid administered.
Ensure that staff are effectively managed. Maintaining records of staff attendances, checking and authorising additional salary pay claims and managing staff absences and lateness. Occasional meetings with staff outside the normal working pattern may be required.
Take part in the recruitment and induction of staff
Take responsibility for your own professional development, including participation in appraisal, any necessary training and keeping abreast of all current issues relating to providing wrap around care in schools.
