Page Personnel are proud to once again be working in partnership with a market leading, FS regulated business based in Leeds on their appointment of a Credit Underwriting Manager. This is a key role within the business and forms part of the senior leadership team


Key Responsibilities Include;
  • Direct operational and strategic responsibility for the Consumer Credit function
  • Responsible for shaping, developing and improving the businesses credit risk policy
  • Lead, mentor and support a team of credit underwriters
  • Manage workload in line with pre agreed service level agreements
  • Ensure the businesses Credit Risk policy is adhered to at all times
  • Ensure the business works within the confines of key regulator including the FCA
  • Support existing customer who are going through financial difficulty to find a correct solution that works for all parties
  • Work closely with the collections tam to support customers going through the collections process
  • Provide a best in class service to all customers at all times
  • Where required, operationally support the credit underwriters based on volumes and workload


The Successful Candidate:
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of consumer credit / consumer lending / credit underwriting
  • Experience within an FCA regulated organisation
  • Experience within underwriting
  • Knowledge of credit risk
  • Prior input into credit policy
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team

Job Offer

This is an excellent yet urgent opportunity to join a leading FS organisation at their head offices in Leeds.

The Credit Underwriting Manager role offers a salary of between £50,000 & £60,000 dependent on experience.

Initially this will be on a 6months fixed term contract with a view to becoming permanent. Due to the urgency of the role, candidates need to be available immediately or within a few weeks.

The business does offer flexible working however presence in Leeds would be required on a weekly basis
