Are you an experienced, energetic, results-focused parent/family engagement specialist looking for a challenge? We'd love you to join our small, dynamic team and lead the design and implementation of an exciting new programme to improve the literacy of young children from disadvantaged backgrounds.Innovations for Learning (IFL) is an innovative charity that uses technology to improve the early literacy skills of young pupils. Founded in America, IFL launched its flagship programme, TutorMate, in the UK in 2018. TutorMate will support 1500 pupils in Doncaster, Bradford/Leeds, London, Middlesbrough and Peterborough in 2021-22.TutorMate is a unique online reading support programme which pairs disadvantaged, struggling six-year old readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.Until Covid, TutorMate was delivered to children who were solely in-school. During the period of school closures IFL ran a successful pilot to extend the TutorMate model into the home setting, so that volunteers were able to support children's reading while they were learning at home. This new post presents an exciting opportunity to develop and refine the TutorMate Home delivery model to involve parents so that more children can benefit from extra supported reading.Job SummaryIFL is seeking a Parent Involvement Manager who is versatile, innovative and an excellent communicator and motivator to help parents use TutorMate Home.
