One Step Recruitment is currently working with a world leader in pump technologies on a permanent Aftersales Technical Assistant job opportunity.

The company offer a range of progressive cavity pumps, pump systems and digital solutions which are used wherever low to highly viscous, aggressive or abrasive media must be conveyed at low pulsation rates.

The main purpose of this Aftersales Technical Assistant role is to provide excellent customer service, understanding the customer requirements and ensuring they are dealt with efficiently.

  • Generate quotations and process orders to meet the customer expectations and deadlines for Aftersales and Service departments. Actively pursue open quotations to secure orders.
  • To assist in the administration of the service department by raising orders, dealing with sub-contractors etc.
  • Help to ensure that KPIs for the Aftersales + Internal Service department are met. To support workshop activities: pump strip, build + testing as necessary.
  • To cover Warehouse activities in the absence of the stores person as required.
  • To develop good relationships with internal + external customers to ensure complete satisfaction and to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Use relevant company software and maintain accurate data.
  • To advise Customer Services Manager of any customer complaints received to ensure correct action is taken in accordance with company policy.
  • To maintain an awareness of company products and relevant sales techniques to ensure that the sales role is carried out as effectively as possible.
  • Adhere to company manual.

  • BTEC or NVQ in mechanical engineering - not essential.
  • At least 2-3 years experience in customer service + providing technical support.
  • Good verbal and written communicator with high drive, enthusiasm and committed.
  • Independent yet act as a team player and able to communicate at different levels to customers and colleagues.
  • Good qualifications in English Language and Science are a necessity.
  • Willing to assist in pump strip/build.
  • Flexible: To cover for holidays/absence/high work loading in the warehouse: picking parts, packing and shipping.
  • Experience in SAP would be an advantage.
  • Good IT skills

  • Excellent starting salary of circa £23,000.
  • Mon to Thur 8.30 - 5.00; Fri 8.30 - 3.30
