We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Midwifery Manager to provide support to the Maternity Workforce. He/she will have excellent leadership, management and communication skills and will be responsible for the operational management and development of the identified teams in line with the vision and values of the Women, Childrens and Sexual Health Services Directorate.

The post holder will be based in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. The District General Hospital is situated on the outskirts of Dumfries, providing midwifery consultant led care for approximately 1150 births per year. Services are delivered across the region from Langholm in the East to Stranraer and beyond in the West.

The post holder will be responsible for continuing the implementation of the Best Start five-year forward plan for the improvement of maternity and neonatal services in Scotland.

Clear evidence of people/organisational development and demonstrable skills in managing change are essential, as well as a strong commitment and track record in leading quality and clinical governance activities.

The Clinical Manager will work closely with the Head of Midwifery, other senior managers and Directorate General Manager to support the senior management team in decision making, the delivery of safe, fit for purpose services ensuring that the needs of women, children, young people and their families are paramount.
