We are supporting a good infant school in Romford, to find a learning support assistant 2 days a week, to work 1:1 with a SEND student.

Immediate start - 2 days a week

Teaching Assistant will work within the classroom to support a SEND student working at reception level.

Daily duties with include:
  • Supporting student through learning and play.
  • Working closely alongside the parents and teachers to adapt to learning plan.
  • Use of PECS or an aptitude to develop these skills
  • Building intellectual, social, emotional and physical skills of students whilst promoting enjoyment of learning.
  • Working alongside the teacher to integrate the student as a member of their learning environment

Ideally have:
  • Experience and awareness of working with children with a wide range of abilities
  • A drive and energy for working with special needs children and developing skills to facilitate this
  • Relate well to all children and adults within the school with confidence and clarity.
  • Be reflective of your own behaviour to ensure teams are strong and working together to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within this
  • A good understanding of professionalism and the ability to recognise the difference between personal and professional boundaries in relationships both in and

Qualified to levels 2 or a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent would be ideal.
