The Company: I am just starting to work with a highly regarded regional IFA business based in York who are looking to add a hybrid IFA Administrator/Paraplanner to their expanding back-office support team of 5. They are a private wealth biased business with a typical case often inclusive of investments advice, pensions, protection & IHT/tax planning - And due to gradual expansion plans across 2019 they are now able to expand their admin support team in line with Adviser recruitment which has got them to 6 billing heads now, with the role being a hybrid across administrative support and basic paraplanning.

The Role: The role/remit very much a hybrid role working across wealth administration support and basic research/suitability report writing. It is geared around supporting multiple high performing financial advisers, working in HNW circles from a technical admin support perspective. Sitting within a team of 5 your responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • New business processing
  • Preparing client review pack for client meetings
  • Obtaining quotations/valuations
  • Dealing with product providers and managing relationships accordingly
  • Managing client relationships and being the first point of contact for technical queries as required
  • Database management
  • Assistance with client business development and marketing materials
  • Product research
  • Paraplanning and suitability report compilation - ISA transfers, lump sum investments etc

The Person: The successful candidate must come from an IFA/wealth management background and have exposure to supporting IFA's/financial advisers in a private wealth focused environment. You will have wide-ranging knowledge in one of more of the following product areas: investments, pensions, protection, IHT and trust work and have 2+ years' plus experience in a similar admin support environment within an IFA. This role would suit and experienced Financial Planning Administrator who enjoys the technical aspect of administration and is searching for that more technically challenging role, where involvement in paraplanning is more apparent day to day. Or indeed someone with that hybrid skillset inclusive of paraplanning experience that maybe doesn't want to progress through qualifications, and is more than comfortable taking on that administrative remit too.
