Open Door People is an award winning charity that helps talented young people who do not have the financial support or resources to gain a place at one of the UK's leading drama schools. We work with people who are serious about pursuing a career in either acting, production arts or technical theatre. We work to break down any barriers they may face, allowing them to compete for drama school training on a level playing field and go into auditions and interviews feeling prepared, confident and without the worry of financial strain.Open Door was named Winner of 'School of the Year' at The Stage Awards 2019 and as one of the Big Issue's 'Top 100 ChangeMakers 2019'. Partner organisations include: the Donmar Warehouse, RADA, Spotlight and the Royal CourtPatrons include: Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke and Riz AhmedThis is a unique and exciting opportunity to come in at a management level to oversee all of the charity's activity. We are looking for someone to nurture the collaborative, welcoming and inclusive environment that is currently in place. The role is an active, highly communicative one where you will come into contact and work with a huge range of people from our participants, mentors, tutors, Board of Trustees, Drama School staff and other industry professionals. We are open to hybrid working for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to :-Working closely with the Artistic Director in planning and delivering the vision of Open DoorSupporting fundraising and outreach strategiesManaging and scheduling Open Door's applications and audition days with all that entailsVenue booking and communication around workshops, trips, and tutoring sessionsConstructing and managing project budgets, liaising with accountants, Artistic Director and our finance trustee on all financial issuesWriting funding applications (including activity reports and evaluations) to a high standardHandling any safeguarding issues that may occurLine managing and supporting members of staff For this role desired qualities are :-An excellent communicator (verbal and written), with a positive outlook whose values align with Open Door'sExtremely organised, with a track record of managing a teamExperience with another charitable organisation Experience in creating and maintaining budgets and preferably using cloud based accounting software Proficient with G Suite & Microsoft OfficeExperience with working with young people Knowledge of the drama school system, as well as the theatre, film or television industry
