We now have an exciting opportunity to join our Supported Learning Department as a Level 7 Assessor - Exam Access Arrangements Tutor on a permanent, part time (14.8 hours per week) basis. * Pro Rata Salary £8,316.83 - £15,650.93.
As a Level 7 Assessor - Exam Access Arrangements Tutor you will provide supervision of your curriculum area, ensuring that you meet budget, quality and operational targets. You will deliver high quality, learner-focused education providing a secure and friendly environment in order for your students to succeed. In your role you will plan, lead and develop the curriculum area within the establishment to ensure compliance with the national curriculum framework, the integration of functional skills, best practice and quality targets.
In order to do this, you will need:
A teaching / assessing (as appropriate) qualification and subject-specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) qualification within a specified time scale
English and Maths - must be qualified to a minimum of Level 2
A demonstrable track record of effective teaching and delivering in the subject specialism
A specialist Dyslexia/SpLD qualification at least at level 5. And/or at least one of the following;
A post graduate course at or equivalent to Level 7, including at least 100 hours relating to individual specialist assessment of learners with Dyslexia/SpLD*
A current SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate as awarded by BDA, Patoss or the Dyslexia Guild and listed on the SASC website - ncluding the theoretical basis underlying psychometric tests, such as the concepts of validity and reliability, standard deviations and the normal distribution curve, raw scores, standard scores, quotients, percentiles and age equivalent scores, the concept of statistically significant discrepancies between scores, standard error of method and confidence levels
