Location: Aviemore Contract type: Permanent Hours per week: 21 hours (Flexibility requited as shop operational hours are from 9am - 5pm, Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on a Sunday) Salary: £16,248 per annum pro rata (Actual salary for 21 hours per week is £9,748.79 per annum)We have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and motivated retailer to join our Aviemore shop on a permanent basis.Retailing with a difference Working alongside the Shop Manager, together you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a profitable, customer focused shop that is the 'window of the British Red Cross' on the high street. Deputising for the Shop Manager on occasion, you will ensure the smooth running of the shop during their absence; this will include the accurate processing of any financial transactions, the delivery of shop floor and stockroom management, and adherence with policies and procedures. Our shops are supported by a dedicated team of volunteers - we couldn't run our shops without them! You'll oversee your volunteers' induction, management and development, and will encourage your shop team to share any ideas that may contribute towards the success of the store. Together, you'll create a shop that will uphold the British Red Cross' image and reputation and help us raise vital funds that will help people in crisis. Helping people in crisis begins at your local charity shop Full of gifts, clothes and even the odd vintage gem, our 330 shops across the UK are home to over 6,500 volunteers and 700 paid staff. Our team is bright and bubbly, and we love meeting people from all walks of life. We want to make sure everyone that visits us has a great experience, and we never forget the contribution our little shop makes to helping those in crisis. You're a retail star. You've got the experience and know-how from working in a shop environment. You can go your own way. You can use your initiative for positive results. Numbers don't faze you. You've got a good understanding of financial and numerical information and have experience of cash handling.
