Finance Administrator/Bookkeeper, Contract Position till 23rd December, £11.30ph Central Harrogate

Our client requires a Business Financial Executive/Bookkeeper with previous experience to help them out cover a gap until 23rd December. This is a full time role paying £11,30ph. Training can not be given so experience is essential for this role with a proactive can do attitude.

Primary Responsibility: To assist a portfolio of spinout companies with all business finance administrative tasks.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide a high level of finance administrative assistance to a dedicated portfolio of client companies

• Completing quarterly VAT returns in compliance with Making Tax Digital procedures

• Updating the fixed asset register

• Ensuring all client financial procedures and processes are compliant at all times

• Enter transactions (including purchase and sales invoices, expense claim processing, credit card transactions) into the accounting records (using spreadsheets, Sage Line 50 and Xero)

• Maintenance of company's bank accounts

• Payment of purchase invoices, once approved

• Raising sales invoices

• Payroll administration and auto enrolment

• Collating client company credit card receipts

• Producing weekly cash position summaries

• Bank Reconciliations

• Liaising with external suppliers to arrange credit accounts

• Collating purchase order information

• Liaising with Accountants to resolve queries for Management Account preparation

• Credit Control

• Filing and archiving

• Working towards strict targets and deadlines especially around month end

• HMRC audits


• Bookkeeping experience

• Good IT skills including (using spreadsheets, Sage Line 50 and Xero)

• Experience of working with external clients would be beneficial

• Proactive

• Good attention to detail
